Alex Depledge

Alex Depledge MBE is a tech entrepreneur and business expert with a refreshing and decidedly accessible approach. She is an inspirational and candid speaker covering topics such as the future of the workplace, women in technology, lessons we can learn from data and the opportunities and threats of automation and AI.

Her achievements in building one of the most acclaimed startups to emerge from London’s Tech City have made her into one of the UK’s highest profile female entrepreneurs.

As the CEO of Hassle.com, Alex was responsible for taking the business from inception to over £8m in turnover in under two years. In doing so it expanded from the three original founders to employ over 70 people in four countries before being sold for £32m to German company Helpling.

Her entrepreneurial insight has seen her become a fixture for media outlets such as the BBC and CNBC, sharing her views on the UK tech scene, women in the digital sector, the skills gap in the UK, the sharing economy, VC funding, entrepreneurship and the difference between European and US business culture. In June 2016, she was awarded an MBE for services to the Sharing Economy and is a regular consultant to the government on the digital economy, enterprise and start ups.
